How to rinse rice thoroughly? Why the rinsed water is still milky after rinsing for 2 or 3 times?

The rinsing water is milky because of the starch. When starch dissolved into the water, the water will become milky. Over-rinsing the rice will make the rice losing its starch. The rice will be less “sweet”.

So how to rinse the rice properly?

When rinsing the rice for the first time, boiled water (room temperature) should be used. Rice can absorb water quickly, so softly rinsing the water can remove the odor and impurities. Pour away the water at once to avoild absorbing the unclean water.

You are recommended to cook the rice thoroughly when rinsing the rice for the second time. If it is the old rice, just rub the rice surface softly.

When rinsing the rice for the last time, just stir a bit the rice.

In addition to the correct way of rinsing water, getting one rice cooker which can soak rice is also important!
